I might have mentioned that we’re doing up the house we bought a year and a half ago. It’s a very slow process. Getting through the bureaucracy is worse than watching paint dry! Most of the time I’m quite optimistic about this quasi-squatting lifestyle we’ve currently got going on, but lately I’ve been worrying about it all a bit more. As September draws ever closer without any major building work completed, it will mean another winter in an extremely cold and damp kitchen and bathroom!
To cheer myself up, I took to Etsy this week (who doesn’t perk up after a good browsing session on Etsy?) to drool over all the furnishings I can’t buy yet. There’s a wealth of inspiration there and I thought I’d share some of my favourite home furnishings with you in a series of posts. Today, it’s rug time!
Whether you’re into traditional kilims, crochet rugs or a simpler Skandinavian style, I think there’s something for everyone here. I was particularly pleased with my most recent find – the Skandihome Etsy shop – which I will definitely take a closer look at when we come to furnishing our home! I’m also intrigued about making my own crochet rug (like this lace rug).
Which is your favourite of these 5 rugs? Do you have any rug-buying tips or know a good shop? Let me hear all about it!
